Nursery Reveal and Organization

Dresser Organization

I don’t know about you, but I thrive when things are organized. This may sound dramatic, but nothing makes me happier! Ok, just kidding, there are plenty of other things that make me happier than an organized drawer, but it is definitely a close second!

I knew Jace’s nursery would be no exception to my love for an organized space, so lets dive in!

We have the eight drawer IKEA Hemnes dresser and I absolutely love it! The price was right and I love the fact that it has the four smaller drawers on top as well as four larger and deeper drawers below.

Here is how I utilized each drawer

Top Left – This drawer has turned into a catch all for his personal hygiene/medicine. Once he is here, I may find that I would prefer these things in the kitchen or bathroom, but for now I am utilizing this drawer for all things personal hygiene and medicine.

Top Middle Left – Baby Jace has so many hats and socks and needed a drawer dedicated to such!

Top Middle Right – Here is where I am keeping all his teethers, pacifiers and pacifier clips.

Top Right – This drawer is dedicated to all things diaper changing. It contains diapers, wipes and A&D ointment.

Middle Left – Lots of sleepers and gowns! The left most column is filled with gowns and each column moving from left to right contains sleepers starting with NB up until 9 months.

Middle and Bottom Right – I used these two drawers to store matching sets (shirt and matching pant). I originally had all these items hanging it the closet, but I found it hard to hang tiny little baby pants/shorts, so a drawer was needed! I used these awesome drawer dividers, to make best use of my space, so I could fold each outfit and organize by size.

Bottom Left – This drawer houses all things swaddles, burp clothes, and extra linens!

Closet Organization

One of my favorite aspects of this room is the amazing door my dad and husband built! It is massive (the pictures don’t do it justice) and fits the space perfectly. Prior to the sliding door, we had bi-folding closet doors and they were awful trying to open over the carpet. This new sliding door is so easy and it doesn’t look that bad either 😉

I didn’t do anything crazy as far as closet organization because I honestly wasn’t sure what was going to work for us in the future. His clothes won’t be this small for long, so I have a feeling his closet will be a work in progress as he grows! One thing we did do was install this closet system we purchased from Home Depot. So far, it is serving its purpose and we have zero complaints! I love the cubes and these Target baskets fit perfectly in each.

How I utilized each cube (from top to bottom) –

Cube 1 – Bathing suits and warm weather things!

Cube 2 – All of baby Jace’s onesies

Cube 3 – Shoes!

Cube 4 – Blankets

Cube 5 – And more blankets!

The two small white boxes are from IKEA and I am using one to store all of our UppaBaby accessories/bags/paperwork. The other is his memory box that I will fill with sentimental items.
