I was initially scheduled to take my maternity pictures a few weeks prior, but my photographer was unexpectedly exposed to COVID and for the safety of all involved, we decided to postpone until January 17th.
After re-booking, I quickly realized that January 17th would have been Layne’s first birthday and we already had plans that evening to celebrate with our parents and siblings. I wasn’t sure how I felt about sharing her day, but I quickly realized that it was an opportunity to celebrate both of our babies in the same day. We spent the afternoon celebrating the healthy little boy I have been blessed to carry for the last eight months as well as our sweet angel that evening.
It certainly looked different than a typical first birthday, but our families helped make the day as special as possible. We had homemade phillycheese steaks in honor of our Philly born babe and finished the evening off with cake and ice cream.
Maternity Photos
I had a vision for how I wanted my maternity pictures to look – I pictured myself in a long black dress, Jeff in khakis and us being photographed in an open field with a moody backdrop. Brittany brought my dreams to life. She suggested the perfect location and I couldn’t be happier with how these pictures turned out. They are absolutely perfect and I am so thankful I didn’t talk myself out of taking them.
And per Brittany’s suggestion, we took a few in-home photos as well.
