Its a……..BOY!

Happy Friday, friends!

It has almost been a week since finding out about baby boy Younkins and things are starting to sink in! I cannot believe we are going to have a little boy! It is going to be so much fun. I cannot wait!

The Reveal

We decided to have the NIPT blood test done this pregnancy to rule out a handful of genetic and chromosomal abnormalities and to find out the gender early. At ten weeks I went in to have my blood taken and the results were scheduled to be in within 1 – 2 weeks. We knew we wanted to have a gender reveal so I had my sister create an account on the results webpage so she would be the one to find out the results first. We had already pre-ordered boy and girl poppers and baseballs, so we were party ready as soon as the results came in. Prior to having my blood taken we had come to the conclusion that we were going to wait and do a gender reveal until after I had my 12 week ultrasound to be sure everything was still looking good, but as soon as the results were in I knew I could not wait any longer to find out! Everything was looking perfect at my eight week ultrasound and the day I had my blood drawn they checked me with the doppler and the heartrate was perfect, so we decided to move up the reveal and trust that this pregnancy is different and healthy.

The day of the reveal we had our closest family and friends over to watch and celebrate as we found out! It was so much fun.

The Nursery

I have been waiting so long to plan a nursery and I am so excited to finally get started. We did not get to prepare a nursery for Layne so I have a blank slate to work with. I want something cozy and inviting, yet simple and masculine. I put together a neutral design board to help bring my idea together and I am liking how it is looking. I may change things up a bit, but for now this is the direction I am headed in! Let me know what you think!

I am still in shock and I cannot even believe that we are going to be welcoming a sweet little boy come March. It is going to be so different, but so welcomed. We cannot wait to meet you, little one!
