Thank Goodness it is Friday! We are officially into month two of this quarantine life, and you may or may not being going a little stir crazy. I sure am! I am not much of a homebody, and prefer to be on the go, so being confined to my home is tough! But I am taking this time and trying to find productive things to do. I wish all this would just go away, but this is our new reality, hopefully not for long, and I am going to try and make the best of it!
After a few weeks of the quarantine life I quickly realized I needed to find healthy habits and hobbies to occupy my time and I thought I would share what I have been doing to maintain my sanity during these crazy times.
- House Projects – Jeff and I are capitalizing on all the free time we have to really catch up on some house projects we have been wanting to do! I finished painting my cabinets (blog post coming soon), I did a re-fresh on our hallway bathroom, and we are replacing our bi-folding closet doors for a DIY barn door. Just to name a few!
- Board Games – We have been playing the heck out of some board games around here, and we have been loving it! This has been our Friday night go-to and I have a feeling it may stick around past quarantine! I’ll link a few of our favorites below.
- Cooking – I have been spending more time in the kitchen and cooking a lot more. I have always enjoyed cooking, but never seemed to have the time to try new recipes. Now that I have all the time in the world, I have been cook all sorts of new things.
- Exercise – I have been making it a point to get outside every day! Jeff and I take the dogs for a long walk every night, and I look forward to it every day. It really helps keep my spirits high!
- Get Ready – Working from home makes it really easy to stay in my PJ’s all day, and sometimes I do, but I feel my best when I get up and get ready for the day just as if I were going to work. I am so much more productive and overall feel better!
Although these stay-at-home orders are not ideal, they are necessary to stay safe and help flatten the curve, so why not make the best of them! Jeff and I are getting back to the basics and enjoying the things we once took for granted.
What are you doing to keep busy and sane during the quarantine?
I totally agree about getting cleaned up first thing in the morning.
